Ecotourism Kenya has received the prestigious Africa Investor Award for "Best initiative Facilitating SME Tourism Investment". "These Awards are the only initiative designed to recognize the achievement of those businesses, governments, organizations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of sustainable tourism investment in Africa," said Professor Geoffrey Lipman, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization and member of the judging panel.

· Fair Trade in Tourism South Arica
· Heritage Group Congo Investment
· Uganda Community Tourism Association
Judges for the 2010 Tourism Investment Awards included:
Dr Bamanga Tukur, Chairman, NEPAD Business Group; Trevor Ward, Managing Director, W Hospitality Group; Geoffrey Lipman, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General, United Nations World Tourism Organization; Irene Visser, Tourism Programme Manager, International Financial Corporation; Hubert Danso, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Africa Investor and Kate Rivett-Carnac, Tourism Specialist, Development Bank of Southern Africa.
During the awards ceremony Ecotourism Kenya were the first Kenyan group to receive this award and were followed soon after by:
· Kenya Airways: Business Airline of the year, and
· Mombasa City: Tourism Investment City of the year
About the Africa Investor Tourism investment Awards:
The Annual Ai Tourism Investment Awards exist to recognize excellence and investment achievements in tourism investment community working in Africa. In addition to profiling tourism investment success stories, the Awards also emphasize Corporate Responsibility towards social development and good corporate citizenship.
