WHO WE ARE
We are a membership organization founded in 1996 as the Ecotourism Society of Kenya (ESOK). Our membership portfolio ranges from individual tourism professionals to tourism businesses. We were the first ecotourism society to be established in Africa. We lead the Kenyan tourism industry in adopting voluntary tourism certification, participating in a homegrown tourism award, and community asset building through various tourism projects.
In 2006, we adopted the name Ecotourism Kenya (EK). EK works in partnership with many professionals both in the public and private sectors. We are part of the 8 private-sector associations that make up the Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF).
WHAT WE DO
The mission of the organization is to champion responsible tourism practices in Kenya within the tourism industry by linking tourism, conservation & communities.
WHY
To be the leader in the knowledge and practice of responsible tourism.
