Global Mice Summit and Expo

Ecotourism Kenya in partnership with Zuri Events is excited to host the 2018 Global Mice Summit and Expo. The event seeks to promote sustainability trends in MICE Tourism and will bring together various stakeholders within the larger industry. These stakeholders include; destination management companies (DMCs), government representatives, universities, professional event organizers (PEO) and regional & international tourism professionals. The forum will be held from Thursday 29th November to Friday 30th November at the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi.

Ecotourism Kenya members will receive a 10% discount to participate in the event as follows:

Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) Gala Dinner

The tourism industry will come together and celebrate the immense growth seen in 2018 during KTF’s gala dinner celebration. The event dubbed “A Toast to the Tourism Sector – A Sustainability Agenda” will be held at Tamarind Tree Hotel, Nairobi and promises to be a night of networking among tourism professionals, government representatives, members of the diplomatic corps and key decision makers in the industry. There is limited space available and tickets retail at Ksh. 6,000 for non KTF members and a special rate of Ksh. 5000 for KTF members. Dinner registration closes on Monday 26th November 2018.

Big Win for Ecotourism Kenya

Ecotourism Kenyawas recently recognized as the best organization in the presentation and communication of a climate change project in East Africa. This was during a follow up seminar for an  Advanced International Training Program (ITP) for Climate Change held inBishoftu, Ethiopia last week, sponsored by the Swedish Government. The main aim of the training program is capacity building for developing nations to better equip them to combat climate change.

 

 

The objective of the change project undertaken was the creation of a tool that can be used in the measurement of carbon emissions from diesel used in accommodation facilities. Call for Applications: Leadership and Mentorship Program Training – January 2019

The Leadership and Mentorship Program (LMP) is delighted to open the call for applications for the January 2019 cohort. This training aims at preparing university students to work within the tourism industry by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge required to successfully apply themselves. Ecotourism Kenya focuses on responsible tourism best practices while incorporating life skills and digital marketing. We encourage all ongoing university students with a passion for responsible tourism and affiliated professions to apply for the January 2019 class.
